What is beauty? What makes beauty so intoxicating? When I see or experience something beautiful, whether it is a woman,  a piece of art, a natural landscape, music, or anything else that strikes me as beautiful, my whole being seems to become engulfed by the desire to absorb as much of what I am experiencing as possible. The most powerful combination for me is the melding of the erotic and the beautiful. For me, eros has to be beautiful. What I can’t stand about so much of porn, most of it in fact, is that it is ugly. The models are ugly, fake, and worn out looking, the photography is poor, the overall atmosphere is crude and trashy. Just the gestures and artificial moaning and screaming of the models is enough to make one burst out in laughter. For most those who have experienced real lovers in real time, such extreme sounds and actions tend to be a rare occurrence. So the women in most porn don’t even seem real, and that is not attractive for me. But then there is the rare porn that is done much more tastefully or realistically. As I mentioned in the last post there is a fine line between porn and eros and it is hard to tell what that line is. All erotic art it seems must instill some sexual feeling in the onlooker, just as looking at an attractive woman walking down the street, or sitting in a restaurant, can. Watching two or more people have sex when it is done well is an enticing and attractive thing for many people, both men and women.

And then there is the connection between love, eros and beauty. These things can be purely aesthetic in an intellectual or abstract sense, or they can be earthy and concrete. There are few things more beautiful than a naked woman lying next you during a lazy summer afternoon, someone you may be in love with, or the excitement you feel when you first see a new lover’s body. The physical pleasure of sex is beautiful, or the way a woman feels and tastes as you explore her body, or the pleasure she feels when you go down on her.  For me there are few things more lovely than seeing a woman in the throws of sexual passion. If there is one thing in porn that I enjoy seeing it is that: a beautiful woman who is truly enjoying her sexual experience and showing the world she enjoys that. Lesbian porn is particularly attractive because it is replete with images of beautiful women doing nothing but enjoying sex, often in a somewhat tender and loving way, which makes it seem all the more real. I suppose it is in part the combination of erotic beauty and forbiddenness that is enticing about porn at least for me. After all, out of all the attractive women you may see during the course of one day, how many of them do you know anything about when it comes to sex? Usually none. Yet I always wonder what a woman I see or know might enjoy sexually, so to see it depicted in an artistic, pleasing way can be a nice experience. And of course one of the biggest thrill of all is pursuing a woman whom you find attractive. And even better than that is when you finally are in bed with her.
